TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Orhan Aydın visited Tarsus University following his tenure as its Founding Rector. During the visit, a discussion was held regarding projects and research and development activities conducted by TÜBİTAK.


The programme, held in the Şehit İstihkâm Üsteğmen Ozan Olgu Köreke Conference Hall, began with an opening speech by Tarsus University Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Özen. Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Özen expressed his pleasure at seeing Prof. Dr. Orhan Aydın back at the university and hosting him, thanking all stakeholders who have contributed to the scientific and institutional development of Tarsus University from its foundation to the present day. Sharing comprehensive information about the work carried out by TÜBİTAK during the interview, Prof. Dr. Orhan Aydın highlighted TÜBİTAK's role in the national science, technology and innovation ecosystem and drew attention to Turkey's position in the global R&D ecosystem through the pioneering work carried out. Emphasising the competitive aspect of Turkey's future projections in the field of scientific research, Prof. Dr. Aydın conveyed the importance of developments in international cooperation and science diplomacy for Turkey. He provided information on the broad research and development ecosystem covered by the projects carried out by TÜBİTAK, ranging from polar research to defence industry projects, artificial intelligence and space studies to nuclear energy, semiconductor and transportation technologies.
