Tarsus Üniversitesi’nin temelleri 1992 yılında Mersin Üniversitesi’ne bağlı olarak kurulan Tarsus Meslek Yüksekokulu ile atılmıştır. 2001 yılında Tarsus Teknik Eğitim Fakültesi, 2005 yılında Uygulamalı Teknoloji ve İşletmecilik Yüksekokulu kurulmasıyla eğitim faaliyetlerini genişletmiştir.Bugün itibari ile 4 fakülte, 1 enstitü, 1 yüksekokul ve 2 meslek yüksekokulu ile faaliyetlerini sürdürmektedir.

The Right to Development Project Ranked Among the Top 26 Projects Nationwide in Turkey

Within Tarsus University, the ‘Right to Development Project’ conducted by Lecturer Bağdagül Sarıdaş, a teaching staff member of the Child Development Programme at the Department of Child Care and Youth Services, School of Health Services, was selected among the first 26 projects deemed worthy of support from a total of 8,754 project applications submitted nationwide under the ‘Stars of Education Programme’ organised by the Anadolu Foundation. – Stars of Education Programme" organised by the Anadolu Foundation.


Project owners who reached the final stage of the programme were invited to a major education summit held in Istanbul between 16-18 January 2026. Various training sessions were held for participants throughout the three-day programme, followed by project presentations. The programme concluded with an awards ceremony and social and cultural interaction at Dolmabahçe Palace.


Within the scope of the project, education and support-based activities are planned to be carried out to support the development of children aged 0-6 who are staying with their mothers at the Tarsus Women's Closed Prison. The project, which aims to strengthen the developmental areas of children in disadvantaged conditions during early childhood, targets increasing psycho-social support mechanisms and strengthening awareness of children's developmental rights.


It is envisaged that the 26 projects selected from applications made by Turkey's 81 provinces will be implemented with the support of mentoring, networking, financial support and collaboration opportunities throughout 2026, within the scope of the ‘Stars of Education’ award.
