Tarsus Üniversitesi’nin temelleri 1992 yılında Mersin Üniversitesi’ne bağlı olarak kurulan Tarsus Meslek Yüksekokulu ile atılmıştır. 2001 yılında Tarsus Teknik Eğitim Fakültesi, 2005 yılında Uygulamalı Teknoloji ve İşletmecilik Yüksekokulu kurulmasıyla eğitim faaliyetlerini genişletmiştir.Bugün itibari ile 4 fakülte, 1 enstitü, 1 yüksekokul ve 2 meslek yüksekokulu ile faaliyetlerini sürdürmektedir.

Visit to Tarsus University by Officials from the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and Akkuyu Nuclear Inc.

Representatives from the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and officials from the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), which is currently under construction in the district of Gülnar, visited Tarsus University.
The visit began with a comprehensive meeting held in the Rectorate Senate Hall. During the meeting, which was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Özen, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Osman Murat Özkendir and Prof. Dr. Tuğba Yolcu, and officials from the university's relevant units and departments, potential collaborations, the future need for specialised personnel for the Akkuyu NPP project, and the university's potential contributions in this area were discussed.
Following the meeting, inspections were conducted at the university's Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Aviation and Space Sciences. During these inspections, detailed information was shared about the work being carried out at both faculties and potential opportunities for collaboration.
The programme continued with a visit to the Tarsus University MTOSB Campus. Mutual information exchange and detailed consultations were held regarding the work being carried out in the laboratories and the Employment Factory on campus.
The visit concluded with a closing meeting held at the Mersin-Tarsus Organised Industrial Zone (MTOSB) Model Factory. At the meeting, concrete dates and outcomes were determined regarding the training programmes for the specialist personnel required by Akkuyu NGS, language training, collaboration processes with foreign universities, and workflows.
