Tarsus Üniversitesi’nin temelleri 1992 yılında Mersin Üniversitesi’ne bağlı olarak kurulan Tarsus Meslek Yüksekokulu ile atılmıştır. 2001 yılında Tarsus Teknik Eğitim Fakültesi, 2005 yılında Uygulamalı Teknoloji ve İşletmecilik Yüksekokulu kurulmasıyla eğitim faaliyetlerini genişletmiştir.Bugün itibari ile 4 fakülte, 1 enstitü, 1 yüksekokul ve 2 meslek yüksekokulu ile faaliyetlerini sürdürmektedir.

The Second Academic Cooperation Workshop was held at Tarsus University

The Second Academic Cooperation Workshop, hosted by Tarsus University, was held on Monday, 19 January, with broad participation. Aiming to strengthen academic interaction, create areas for joint work, and develop interdisciplinary cooperation, the workshop brought together participants from different fields, providing a productive academic environment.

The workshop commenced with an opening speech by Prof. Dr. Ali Özen, Rector of Tarsus University. In his speech, Prof. Dr. Özen expressed his satisfaction at bringing together Turkey's distinguished academics at such an important event and highlighted the potential of the academic and practical outcomes that would result from the synergy created. He also shared his vision for the continued growth of bilateral cooperation between universities.

Taking the floor to deliver the opening speeches, Prof. Dr. Adnan Sözen, Rector of Adana Alparslan Türkeş Science and Technology University, expressed his satisfaction with the continued development of this organisation, the first of which was held in Adana and yielded productive results. In his speech, Prof. Dr. Murat Koç, Rector of Çağ University, emphasised that the collaborative environment that had been established would make significant contributions to the work to be carried out and the outcomes to be achieved.

Taking the floor to deliver his speech, Bora Kocaman, General Manager of Çukurova Teknokent and Adana Industrial Campus, touched upon projects carried out within the scope of university-industry cooperation and value-added production processes. Levent Selekoğlu, Mersin Office Coordinator of the Çukurova Development Agency, drew attention to the work being carried out in line with qualified development goals.

During the workshop, bilateral roundtable discussions were held in 16 different fields, ranging from law and international relations to aviation and space engineering, finance and economic policies to artificial intelligence and data science, with the participation of approximately 160 academics. Following in-depth evaluations on the specified topics, the outcomes of the workshop and the decisions taken were shared with the participants by the coordinators.

The workshop, which concluded with intensive knowledge sharing and exchange of ideas, ended with a declaration of intent to continue in February at the Adana Organised Industrial Zone industrial campus and in March at the Çağ University campus with an expanded scope.
